SVR is currently representing a Quebec based corporation, and the appointed receiver, to pursue collection & recovery in relation to a defaulted loan, and to deal with competing creditor claims. SVR previously assisted in the preparation of the original $4.2M loan and security documentation.
Our lawyers are retained to assist secured creditors in protecting and enforcing their security interests and to help them recover as much of the liabilities as possible, with or without receivers involved. We also act for receivers and trustees in bankruptcy as well as corporate creditors, financial institutions and other secured and unsecured lenders based in Canada and abroad. We focus on taking swift, decisive action to advance our clients’ position in proceedings, which can include priority disputes, ownership disputes over assets in possession of the receiver/trustee and/or enforcing security instruments.
